To the churches in America: Raise your voice for the voiceless.
“And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature” (Romans 13:11-14).
Our world has never been the same ever since sin and temptation slithered their way in. Corrupt men have found their way to the top. Men shed the blood of innocent people. Men and women do not honor the sacredness of marriage. Brother fighting against brother; sister doing wrong to their sister. Division, destruction, hatred, anger, envy, jealousy, pride. What have we let our world come to? “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter" (Isaiah 5:20).
I do not believe that God intended for our world to look the way it does. So many people are hurting. So many children have no one to defend them. Men place women and children on the market to sale to other men and women across our world. Women murder a living being inside of them that is growing each and every day since he/she was conceived. When did everything become so evil and why have we allowed it to happen?

“They have built the high places of Baal to burn (murder) their sons in the fire as offerings to Baal – something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind; says the Lord” (Jeremiah 19:5).

“They take bribes to let the wicked go free, and they punish the innocent” (Isaiah 5:23).

Mankind has stooped so low and has gone too far. We have tolerated men and women’s selfish ambitions to silence the church for its faith in The One and only God. They consider us radicals for our beliefs in religion, politics, laws, governments, economics, marriage, rights and justice. A heavy wave of hate has been running fiercely across the globe.

“Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man”
(Luke 6:22).

“We are pressed on every side by trouble, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you” (2 Corinthians 4:8-12).

Our brothers and sisters overseas are experiencing great persecution. They are crying out for a people that will stand for justice and righteousness; a people whose voice will not be silenced by a world that has tolerated injustice. We must come together as the Body of Christ to pray, fast and seek after our heavenly Father. We must raise up a generation that will begin to resist this evil that spreads like poison through your veins. We need a generation of warriors that is willing to serve and surrender for the cause of others. “Help him to defend the poor, to rescue the children of the needy, and to crush their oppressors” (Psalm 72:3). “Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people” (Psalm 82:3-4). We cannot sit back and act as though God never asked of us to bring help to those in need.
To the Western cultures, it is time to stand and pull down the strongholds that have infiltrated our world throughout the centuries. “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). The weapons we use are not of this world. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things” (Galatians 5:22-23).
Let us not forget church, that we have a job to do and that is “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). We can begin today to change the course of our world. We have the opportunity to turn things around. We have the chance to rise, speak and defend. Stand up with and for God’s people (Israel and those who follow Jesus). “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31). If we as the body of Christ would rise together and plead the case of the widow, the orphan, the slave, the persecuted, the innocent, the needy, the poor or the hungry, think of all the ways we could push back the evil that has spread like wild fire. If we could let go of our selfish ways and desires, we can save lives. I believe the time is now for the church to come out of its four cornered walls and shine the light and the love of God around. “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love” (1 John 4:18).
An unknown author once said, “I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won’t give up, shut up or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up and preached up for the cause of Christ.” The time is now church. Raise up a battle cry for your world.
